Healthy Low Back Program

The SymFit Healthy Low Back Program combines 6 levels of neutral spine conditioning with self-corrections techniques to break the faulty loading patterns that cause the joint misalignments in the low back that cause pain. The Healthy Low Back and Pelvis Program will condition you to function with your lumbar spine in its neutral position on to ensures healthy load transfer through the lumbar spine, hips and knees.

Technology has us spending a majority of each day from collapsed upper back posture. When we stand up we arch our low back to counteract the collapsed upper back. Overtime this excessive lumbar extension results in asymmetrical loading. Most of us become right lumbar loaders. The right pelvis collapses forward and L5 gets pulled into left rotation. This stretches out the SI joint ligaments and can cause instability at the L5/S1 spinal segment. This creates a barrier to healing in the lumbar spine or SI joints when you have suffered an injury in this region.

Exercises performed from collapsed upper back posture strengthen the muscles that keep you in collapsed pelvis posture. Your core gets weaker, even your lumbar spine extension loading pattern gets stronger. This program will teach you how to stack your upper back so that you can position your pelvis in its neutral position so that forces can transfer through the low back symmetrically.

Phase 1: Functional Mobility Phase
▪ Schedule Virtual PT Workout Session #1 to learn workout #1.
▪ Perform workout #1 twice daily until you can perform 8 repetitions of each exercise with a 1, 2, 3 tempo of control
Phase 2: Neutral Spine Conditioning Phase
▪ Schedule Virtual PT Workout Session #2 to learn workout #2.
▪ Perform workout #2 twice daily until you can perform 8 repetitions of each exercise with a 1, 2, 3 tempo of control
Phase 3: Functional Conditioning Phase
▪ Schedule Virtual PT Workout Session #3 to learn workout #3.
▪ Perform workout #3 three times a week until you can perform 8 repetitions of each exercise with a 1, 2, 3 tempo of control

Phase 4: Functional Fitness Phase
▪ Schedule Virtual PT Workout Session #4 to learn workout #4.
▪ Perform workout #4 three times a week until you can perform 8 repetitions of each exercise with a 1, 2, 3 tempo of control
▪ Perform the Upper Body Conditioning Workout on your off days!
